Beautiful buildings alone do not transform struggling communities. Given the right tools, all families and communities have the potential to flourish.
WHEDco’s family support services link residents of the Bronx to the kinds of resources we all need to succeed.
Family support services include:
WHEDco’s family support staff help people to overcome poverty by accessing critical public benefits such as food stamps, social security, housing subsidies, health insurance and childcare. We also offer legal counseling and financial planning to help families achieve economic security.
All individuals and families experience crises at some point in their lives. WHEDco’s family support staff help people to overcome the stress that accompanies poverty and to achieve stability and success.
All young people need their parents’ support to make good choices about their education and to navigate the complex issues of growing up. WHEDco’s School Partnership Program places knowledgeable social workers in Bronx public schools to engage families in their children’s education, health and well-being.
In order to help Bronx families weather tough economic times, WHEDco distributes healthy groceries through our community food pantry.
